If the fix is not permanent and if this is a classic Z3 problem, is it worth futzing with? The dealer could screw something else up in the process, so I wonder if the benefit is worth that risk, especially if the fix may not be permanent anyway. Besides, it's just mildly irritating; not like the car won't run or anything. OTOH, if it ain't right, I should make them fix it, right? Any thoughts?

: Me too. They fixed them under warranty about 1000 miles ago. Needed new rails - but I don't think that's going to fix the problem forever - the driver's side seat is beginning to slip again.

: This is a classic Z3 problem...

: : Hi,

: : Both seats in my my 97 2.8 seem to slide very slightly in their tracks when I start or stop. The play is only maybe an eighth of an inch, but it's enough to just barely feel it at times. Is this normal?

: : Thanks,
: : Jim
