Hey I was checking out a 97 Z3 1.9, I thuoght I found one, but it was too expensive so I did some searching the past couple of weeks, so last weekend I went to test drive a 97 2.8 privately owned and for sale, and it turns out it looks like I am getting that, the car is really different from the 1.9, I also wanted a automatic, but after being in the manual 2.8, I said I'd learn to drive a stick.
Well goodluck with your searching.

Chris

: Hi,
: I'm considering purchasing a 1996 or 1997 1.9L Z3 with the following options:
: Automatic transmission, leather seats, roll bar (if '97), heated seats, and traction control, with preferably low mileage.

: I live in Virginia, in the Washington, D.C. area. Does anyone have any recommendations on what a reasonable price would be, how important getting a 'Certified' vehicle is, and any problems with the 96 or 97 that I should watch out for?

: Thanks,

: Peter L.
