: Is anyone interested in driving across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel (CBBT) on thier way to homcoming? I'm sure that for all of you folks on the DelMarVa peninsula it's probably a layup, but I'm wondering if anyone from the Northeast is interested in starting from the Philly area on Thursday morning, crossing over the bridge and then heading to Greer. I realize that this means that you are "Going East to go West", but what's the fun of a road trip, if you can't drive down cool roads? And driving over (and under!) 20 miles of open ocean is right up there cool in my book.
: If I get enough interest in this, I'll do some coordination (but I'm going to need someone who is closer than Boston to either end of the bridge to do some "legwork"), but I'm just floating this as an idea.

I think it will be fun to go to Nashville on the way down, even though it's ridiculously long (yeah yeah I KNOW that is the point ...) so there is a chance of doing that route on the way down... but since we are havin so much fun on the way there, and so much fun when we get down there, maybe we could stay over at the Grove Park Inn on Sunday and have fun fun fun on the way back on Monday going through the CBBT...
Also less chance of nasty traffic I think because the long weekend splits up return travellers on Sunday and Monday.
Just a thought.
And I might still do it on the way down...
