a most unpretentious subject line eh?
Chris -
DC is right on target. Buy what YOU want and think looks good. That said, I'll give you my opinions, worth exactly what you've paid for them :-) Short answer - silver. Long answer below. I'm not up on what's available for '00, this is just off the top of my head and incomplete:
Black - Z3s look awesome in black. I'd have gotten it in a heartbeat - if I had a personal detailer to follow me around. By far the hardest color to keep looking good.
White - I've always liked white cars and have owned several. Actually easy to keep clean and tends to not show dirt. However I don't care much for it on a Z3, can't really put my finger on why. I like it a lot better on coupes though...
Bright Red - If my past cars weren't white, they were red. I love the Z3 in red.
Imola Red - (exclusive to the ///M?) Nice, but if I was going for red, I'd prefer the brighter shade.
Violet Red - not for me, but a very cool color nevertheless.
Steel Gray - Kind of neutral. Much prefer silver.
Arctic Silver - This was my preference when I started shopping for my ///M. I thought it projected a cool elegance. My wife had other ideas.
Dakar Yellow (another ///M only?) What I got. My wife fell in love with it. I have to admit I really think it's stunning, but I don't know if I'll ever get used to it. I'm normally not that extroverted - and if you think a Z3 draws attention, it SCREAMS for attention in yellow.
Boston Green - Another favorite of mine, perfect with a beige and wood interior.
Estoril Blue - I've never cared for blue cars much, and didn't consider it, but it's another color that I think seems to look better on the coupe.
Once again, IMHO only! Try to see as many colors as you can, *in person* and then go with your gut feeling. In any color, you won't be sorry.
