Where you been lately? Kind of old info...

: I picked up the June issue of CAR today and it occured to me that references were only being made to the entry level Z3 1.8 (4cyl - 118hp), 2.0 (6 cyl - 150hp), a 2.8 (192hp), and of course an ///M (321hp) model.

US Europe
1.9L (118hp) No Yes
2.0L (150hp) No Yes
2.3L (170hp) Yes No
2.8L (190hp) Yes Yes
3.15L (240hp) Yes No
3.2L (321hp) No Yes

: Will Europe be seeing the Z3 2.3 (170hp) for MY2K?

see above

: According to an article in CAR as well as several US magazines, it looks as if the Z3 will be receiving a major overhaul in 2003.

BMW body styles are normally 7 years. MY02 willbe the 7th year of the Z3

It sounds like there will only be three models: a 2.2l 163hp 6cyl, a 3.0l 204hp 6 cyl, and a new 3.4l ///M pumping out 347hp. I hope the US will see the 3.4l.

sounds right to me...MY01 will bring the 3L (i would guess more than 204hp though) starting next summer and late next year at least 321hp (but probably the 3.4L 340-350hp) ///M roadster will show up in the US

also- this is NOT specualtion ;-)
