My M Coupe is limited to 5500 rpm and no full throttle use for the first 1200 miles. The full details are on a sticker that's a pain in the butt to remove from the upper left corner of the windshield. Your car probably has a similar label.

My limited understanding of the "break in" process tells me that one key point is to avoid constant speeds and loads. If you can break up your drive, vary your speed / gear selection, and let the engine heat cycle as frequently as possible you should be in good shape. Then again, if you're only keeping the car for two or three years, my guess is almost none of this matters.

Good luck to you - it ought to be a fun drive.
