isn't really all that much of a gain. As a matter of fact, when I made my purchase of the Supersprint, it was done only for the fact I was looking (or should I say listening) for a better sounding exhaust system under load while accelerating.

The better looks, 10 lbs. of weight loss, and 5/5.9 HP/TQ gains were just a bonus!!

My idle at start up also increased over 100 RPMs allowing me to let the engine warm up for the first half minute or so on its own instead of having to hold the throttle on trying to maintain 1000 RPMs for adequate oil pressure. This increase in idle speed proved to me the Supersprint is freer breathing than the stock system.

Also this exhaust is one of the necessary 3 for the "triad power pkg," so well proven to increase the stock power and torque dramatically. That is the chip/cold air intake/exhaust combination. The exhaust by itself does little power wise, but ponied up with the other two, it's very noticeable. I recently drove Bruce Thompsons 97/2.8 with all three and it was a drastic difference from my 98/2.8 with only the SS. The power was very close to that of an M in the first and 2nd gears. Good Luck!
