Nothing compares to HD metallic paint jobs
My first new HD was an 80 FXE in Candy apple red. It had a white base, red metallic flake and clear coat so thick that it always looked wet. I sold it 14 years later with at least 50k and no paint chips. Also, no electrical problems, no oil leaks and no frame cracks. I guess it's luck of the draw.
It did go lots of o-ring chains.
