I have ASC (It was an option in 1996). Tonight I made a "spirited" staert from a stop sign. With the AASC on, I got a chirp out of the right rear upon acceleration. I have never had this before. I suspect I was overpowering the ASC slightly. My understanding is the (1) the power of the 1.9 with supercharger is a little greater than the stock 2.8 and that (2) the rear brakes on the 1.9 and 2.8 are the same; however (3) the final fdrive is numerically higher on the 1.9. So, I could theoretically override it.

I also understand that later 1.9s had an auxilliary throttle body controlled by the ASC in series wioth the main throttle body to use brakes, timing and an thgrottle position to control wheelspin.

As for the clutch, you have to use a little discretion. The Z3 is not a dragster, and the boost is fairly easily modulated with the throttle. I would be careful about "getting on it" before the clutch is fully engaged.
