I didn't think the cam itself moved in the VTECH system. I though there were three lobes on the cam for one cylinder. Two were the normal low speed lobes (one for each valve) but between them was a single high speed lobe. When the transition occurs I thought the rocker arms for the valves 'locked' into the high speed lob and both valves followed it's profile. Is that not correct?
