A $6.50/hr detail laborer will spend maybe 2 hours (with several smoke breaks) putting on about 1/6 of a bottle of stuff they get from J.C. Whitney for $12. Thus the dealer will have maybe $20 in the $500 he charges you after adding in payroll taxes on the laborer's wages and everything. Sounds like a helluva deal to me.
