While I totally agree with you when talking about one or two bass shakers I don't when you get into using a LOT of them. But I'm also talking about home theater use not auto sound. Like you said they are NOT a replacement for bass but they can make a hell of a supplement. I've got 3 subwoofers (one that is a monster) in my home system and a dozen shakers in my couch. The difference in the T-REX stomp with and without them is night and day.
