It's been 7 months and 8K miles and I figured it was time to do a complete wax job. I checked Griots, Autopia and HMS Motorsport. All seemed equally anal about the paint care, but only HMS had Z3 specific wax from Zymol with genuine carnuba wax. They had an introductory kit for $79 that included car wash, vinyl/leather care, HD Cleanse for stripping old wax, wax and all the applicators and towels. The Z3 glaze was and extra $30. Only the best for Zoe.
It was actually quite easy. After washing and drying, with a synthetic chamois, it was into the garage for the cleasing. the HD cleanse is amazing. You wipe it on, wait 20 sec, and wipe of. No elbow grease needed and never wipe in circles(avoids swirls). You do a 16 square foot section at a time. The results are spectacular. My Atlanta blue turned four shades darker. It shined like a mirror. It took about 20 min. to do the whole car.
Now the fun part. You apply the wax with your hands. It comes in a tub in a blue bag with a draw string. It looks like a jewel bag(the wax is almost as valuable). You take a finger full and rub it between your palms until in melts. Then you rub it on the car, again, doing 16 sq.ft at a time. After 1 min, lightly rub it off. Applying it is totally sensual. You caress your car. Its like putting suntan lotion on your girlfriend. I found all of Zoe's erogenous zones. When I rubbed her gills, she started to chirp, and her UNGO MS8300 wasn't even armed!
I took about 30 min. to wax the whole car. I used about a tablespoon of wax, so there is enough for 20 waxings. Wait 2 hours for the final buff.
The results are spectacular. The real color of the paint comes out. It shines like a mirror. I dazzles the eyes. I'm sold on Zymol Z3 glaze. Next, the Concours de Elegance!
