: The Z3 appears to have held up well except there is only one problem that urks me: the steering wheel moved upwards considerably, which is not a good thing. The driver's head (with or without a seatbelt) could bottom out the airbag and come in contact with the rim, or even worse not reach the airbag at all! The ensuing result could be deady head acceleration levels as it hits hard directly into some hard surface (like the rim of the wheel).
: It's a shame the driver was not wearing his seatbelt... makes me want to put some 12-point harness that doesn't have an inertia wheel on and stay with that while driving.

The steering column was probably pulled up with "the jaws of life" by the rescue team to aid in extricating the driver from the vehicle.
