I've been cleaning the top with just plain old laundry detergent, and it works pretty well on my tan top. I've also took the advice of a post on this message board and bought a bottle canvas protectant from a marine supply store, and that works pretty well too, also cost much less than the kit from the dealer. I figure if it's good enough to preserve boat canvases, which are subject to more harsh environment like salt water, then it's good enough for the Z3 tops. I treated the top more than 6 months ago, and even with all the rain we have here in Seattle so far, the water still beads off.
