After long discussions on how to install a cell phone in my M, I choose to order BMW's cell phone which fits nicely into the armrest hidden away under the lid with charger so it may be used outside the car. The antenna is a kit that comes seperately with this phone and requires the roll bar to be taken out and hidden away underneath the cover behind the passenger's seat. The whole thing comes with hookups and harnesses to install the whole thing in the armrest. It is a very clean slick idea and worked well despite the fact that the phones does not have a amp to boost the power. I would imagine hooking up your own cell phone would take more research as suggested but could be rigged up and done. I did this before in my Z3 I traded in leaving that phone in as it was quite a job and alot of designing special to fit and work. The BMW phone for the M is expensive but a nice addition to the value of your car with original equipment and also warranty.
