if you just need one replaced because it's wearing out. The results will vary from mediocre to superb and price will enter into it of course. Last roadster top I replaced was <$400 (for a Triumph) in the late 80's, and I would still think you could get by with <$1000 turnkey for a decent job at some shops. Another advantage is that you could go with a different material if you like. Some might consider it tacky to "Americanize" a Z3 with a vinyl top (actually many British roadsters had them too) but maintenance would be easier.
