The Euro M cars currently receive an engine that is not the same as what ALL the M cars (M Roadster, M Coupe and M3) will get starting in a few months. The new world engine will have a slightly higher output than this current Euro engine.

The slight 0-60 difference between the current Euro cars and the US versions is due to two reasons....one being different gearing and the other being similar torque specs. The Euro engine boasts a much greater HP output which is why is has markedly better performance at higher speeds.
