: In my 00 M-coupe, the connector was directly under that little carpet square. The wiring was electrical taped down about 1.5 inches back from the plug. When I peeled off the tape (that did require small fingers!), I was able to pull the plug out about 3 or 4 inches.

: BTW, I used the switched and ground leads to hook up my V1. I used .093" pins from Radio Shack into the connector to avoid cutting any wires. The .093" pins don't really fit (someone wrote that it takes a special .098"), but if you "expand" these pins with a small nail, they "become" .098".

Yes, I had the tape too. But, I had no slack in the wiring.

It really isn't electrical tape, it seems more sturdy and less prone to heat. Does anyone know what kind of tape it is and/or where to acquire some? Or, the foam like tape BMW uses around the wiring or connectors, does anyone know where to get something like that? As I finish up I want to ensure that everything is fastened down properly and that there is no chance of any rattles.

Thanks,
Artie
