Although I will not for a second argue for the integrity of the HK system in our cars, I do have 2 comments:
1) The placement, size, and quality of the speakers in our cars play an immense role in the substandard sounds we encounter from our stereo. Although the BMW Business stereo is not a premium headunit, its quality is liveable. Ironically, unless Gordon's wife purchased a premium sound system for her 535i, her "infinitely better" stereo most likely shares the same headunit as our beloved roadster.
2) Comparing the audible quality of a sound system in a heavily soundproofed sedan with the quality of sound emanating from a roadster's speakers with its top down is beyond the pale and utterly absurd.
We have every right to complain. The engineers goofed when they put our stereos in our cars. They skimped on the proper system for a roadster, screwed up the placement of the speakers, and maybe they didn't even include a strong enough amp. I still don't see why this means WE should be equally is silly.
