I'm not so sure. I had heard that when Ian Fleming was developing the character of England's most lascivious martini drinker, he included the thought of putting him behind the wheel of something else (Jag XK150???). But, then, after a fortuitous meeting with David Brown, he concluded: James Bond SHALL drive an Aston Martin. Fitting, IMO.
Hey! Wouldn't it be ironic if all fictional movie characters will be seen driving a Ford product? James Bond, 007 - Aston Martin/Jaguar; Simon Templer - Volvo; etc. No doubt Wolfgang Reitzle's mandate at Ford is to eventually reel in BMW. So, maybe we'll see an Errol Flynn-esque character return to the 'silver screen'; entertaining some 16 year olds, perhaps :-O.
