I didn't use the Pioneer cable at all. The BMW cable plugged into the Peripheral (also called BMWPILA) and the plug from the Peripheral plugs into the changer.
: : I installed my last night in a '97. There are two cables, one black about the size of an antenna wire, and the other much smaller for the power. My wires were located just below the right side trunk hinge behind the liner. My antenna is on the left side of the car. You say yours is on the right. Could be a different layout. Good luck. Rick
: : : I just recieved my Pioneer CDX630 with the special cable, but am unable to find the wires to connect it to. My car is a late (7-96) 1.9. All I can find is a white plug with two connectors on the R R fender by the antenna.
: The cables were where you said, but the BMW to Pioneer cable does not fit... both ends are 12 pin female and the power connectors are the wrong size. It looks like Autotoys goofed!
