The climate in Boston should enable you to DRIVE your car at least every other week on dry (clean) roads. This is the best solution.

I would not run the car in idle, as the engine is not designed for it. if the car sits for a long (4 wks+) they could flat-spot, so you might want to either lift the car or over-inflate the tires.

However, I think that you should be able to occasionally drive the car, which will take care of oil, battery, and tire issues.
