Stop worrying about the "I'm not sure it's wise..." as far as using it for a daily driver. It is not a fair-weather garage queen that's going to self-destruct if you use it for a commuter car. It actually *is* a commuter car underneath, though it is one that also happens to be among the best-handling and wonderfully road-connected driving machines on earth (the E36 3-series). The Z3 is a clever invention really, all the joys of a true roadster along with the virtues of a proven platform. Only BMW could do it because if anybody else transformed an appliance car into a roadster it would turn out to be just the former posing as the latter.
