I have owned a '99 Miata and now own a MZ3. Obviously I prefer the BMW, but you're comparing apples to oranges. The Miata handles better (IMHO)and shifts much better. On the new models you can drop the top w/o having to unzip the glass rear window. Very nice arrangement. You'd think that BMW could engineer something similar, 'cause my plastic window is a pain in the rear. Clouds up every few months and has to be cleaned with plastic cleaner. Many reports on this n.g. about the window separating from the top. It creases in the middle if you don't use the blanket (very inconvenient if you have a power top). I'd take the BMW every time, but the little Miata has a lot going for it.

: I am considering leasing a Z3 and am interested in some of the pros and cons from current owners. I am also considering a miata and I know the engine is not as big but one thing that concerns me about the BMW is the plastic window in the back. Has anybody had any problems with a plastic window with no defroster? Can anybody help me out with an honest review of the car? Thanks
