Refrigerants are INERT gases under normal conditions. Of course, the older formulas like r-12 are more well known for this than some of the newer "blends". Now that R-12 is back on the market, many of us are happy. Odd how the ban coincided with Dupont's patent expiration, hmm? However, newer formulas have been improved upon and systems better designed to handle them. So depending on your reaction to sham information, you can whip him, report him, or just avoid him in the future unless you want a good laugh. Actually, you could do all three.
