There are plenty of other 2.8l guys that aren't like that at all and it is fun when I let them drive my car and upon taking a corner they silently mouth 'Wow.' ;)

A couple things here fellas....
As Esteves said:
"Of course, praising your vehicle by belittling others is actually rude."
That goes all the way around, as in, if 2.8 owners have belittled you, they're rude, and on behalf of all 2.8 owners, I apologize for them. At the same time, belittling all 2.8 owners for the percieved actions of a few is equally rude.
"I think they were 2.8'ers that made the snide comments but I didn't really check and I haven't heard them in awhile. Luckily around my area they are the exception not the rule. "
I would think they are the exception and not the rule. I see nothing on the Message Board from the 2.8s as a group. 1.9s are often under attack, and M roadsters seen as the other side, and I often read that one "moved up" to an M Roadster (which most know I do not agree, I think each model has it's advantages) but I just never see 2.8s throwing their weight or engine size around.
"There are plenty of other 2.8l guys that aren't like that at all"
Hum. How about the 2.8 women?
OK OK seriously...
It's really about what Esteves said. What makes people have to put other people down? It's the same as everything in every other way in life. Younger older smarter faster prettier male female North South yada yada...
There will ALWAYS be someone who is faster than you and there will ALWAYS be someone slower than you, the only thing that counts is if you got what you wanted, for youself.
I did :)
Rachel, who was very happy to have Shawn's magic 1.9 join the 2.8 Shag armada on the ride home from HC99, and was also happy that the guy in the red Boxster joined us!
I also agree that the REAL issue is roadsters as a group... as the small fast pretty cars on the road, we have much more in common than differences!
(I include coupes)
