My job paid for the installation of a Nokia hands-free system (part of their safety-first campaign) and when my 98 Z3 1.9 was returned to me the antenna was a black panel glued to the inside of the passenger windshield. It is about 2" x 2" and less than a half inch thick with an epoxpy base. The cable runs inside the A-post and down behind the glove compartment and dash to the control unit. When I first saw it I thought it was a little obstrusive. Now, I don't even see it and I like the idea that from outside the car there is no antenna showing. It's black and matches the interior.
