At an SCCA AutoX at 3Com/Candlestick a few weekends ago, I came back from flag duty soaking wet (results on their web site list it as the 'Aqua Bowl') and there was a nice black one parked next to my Cosmos '97 M3. The owner and I struck up a conversation, each complementing each other's cars, and after mentioning that I'd never even seen one in person before, and that my wife drove an M Roadster, he invited me, soaking wet and all to have a seat and see how it fit.

The answer is -- it fits pretty nice. He said he really liked BMWs, but found the s2000 fit him better. I think headroomwise it's got a little more room than our M Roadster. I'm not sure how I'd like the video-gamesque display on a long-term basis. I definitely think the overall styling in the Roadster is better. Still...nice car.

Racing, he had one pretty spectacular 270 degree wipeout (things were still really wet!), but ended up with a slightly better time than I did. Unfortunately we were in the same run group, or I would have asked him for a ride.

Andy -- '97 M3
