I've practiced removing the donut once, although there seems to be a lot of steps, but it's actually not that complicated. Also, I have a bottle of puncture seal and a motorized air pump in the trunk, sort of a home made mobility kit. My plan with the home made mobility kit is to use it so I can crawl to the nearest tire shop or even to a safer area where I can jack up the car on a flat ground and with no traffic near my car. As for where to put the flat after I changed it, I would prefer to put it in the trunk and use one of those trunk latch extender strap(Brookstone use to sell them, but not anymore, although it's not difficult to make one myself). I'm going to design a kit that'll allow me to strap the tire on top of the trunk without damaging the paint.
