I brought up the boa constrictor seatbelt issue with my service department a couple of visits ago. They took it for several test spins (or so they said) and declared the belt was working within specs. The service rep told me that the rules for convertible seatbelts require quicker and tighter pretensioning because the occupant does not have the benefit of a hard top.

Anyone heard this, or is it BS?

Mike

: ...regarding the proper function of seat belts? A number of years ago I remember being told that Fed regulations required that manufacturers warranty seat belts for the life of the vehicle. I may be wrong, but it might be worth checking out.
