At a recent z3er's event I had X-Pel install pre-cut (3M material)stone guards. They cover a larger area then Keith's stone guards. From time to time I put the black stone guards I had purchased from Keith right over the 3M material - it works just fine.
Currently 1/2 of my hood, entire front, side mirrors, and the edge of the doors are covered with the 3M material - a very good investment!!

: I am having the clear chip guard put on my Z3 this Friday and had a brain storm! I am having a graphic
: shop do the actual installation. I showed him a picture of the magnetic rear chip protector and he thought he could reproduce these in the same 3M material as will be used for the hood. Can anyone offer a reason NOT to do this rather than use the magnetic type.

: Thanks for the help
