I would advise you to test drive both if possible and then make up your mind as to what you like best. I have a '97 2.8 and love it, I had a '88 Prelude w/stick before this so I had a idea of what kind of power to expect from a 4 banger with around 140 hp and I wanted more, if a ///M had been offered at the time I bought I would have gotten that. I have added a cold air intake,chip, SuperSprint and sway bars to my TOY since, and I really like the power I have now. I have never driven a 1.9, but I have tried to keep up to some of them, so they are not the slow pokes some posters like to say they are. It all boils down to what you want and like, don't be swayed by others, it's not their money, it's your's.
