Why don't you drive a 1.9 and see? If that one you're looking at is with some local used car dealer or private seller, you shouldn't even consider it unless you are allowed to take it for an extensive test drive preferably including a stop at an independent mechanic you trust to ascertain the car is sound and never wrecked. In the course of doing that you should be able to get an idea yourself whether a 1.9 has enough power to please you or not. There are people on this board who think a 1.9 is the ideal Z3. Then there are those who think the 240hp M-Roadsters are underpowered and just can't wait 'til they can get one with 80 more. None of them can answer definitively for YOU.
