I have a June '97 that I added Rod's stop to and do not have that problem, I added 1 1/4" and plan to try 1 1/2" soon (if I ever get to drive it again---SNOW). I don't think you should go over 1 1/2", you might run into the problem then IMO

: which she will surely run into if she tries to fit a clutch stop onto a '97/newer (in the U.S. anyway, don't know if they have 'em everywhere).

: Someone here with a digital camera might be kind enough to post a nice pictorial like Andrew's on how to neuter that dumb ignition interlock nuisance on the clutch pedal which BMW was so "thoughtful" to include on newer models.
