: I was treated to a flat tire this morning, a slow leak that finally flattened one of my rear Bridgestone Potenza PP S-02s (255/40/17) that resides on a Breyton Inspiration wheel (I have all four, but just one had a flat). I took my handy electric pump and air'd it up to 35PSI and limped to my local National Tire & Battery (NTB) and had them check it out. They fixed the small, innocuous, middle of the tread puncture (damn nail), balanced the wheel, remounted the wheel using a hand torque wrench, wiped the wheel clean, and charged me...
: I didn't even buy the tires there, but they didn't care. I was impressed, to say the least. Total time in and out: 28 minutes.
Exceptional service, they deserve a box of donuts!
I've bought a number of tires from NTB, and like most chains, I've found the service to be variable. However, their prices are consistently the lowest to be had locally in SE PA.
The one thing that bugs me about them is that they don't stock too many performance tires, and they do sell what they have pretty hard. You need to know what you're after before you get there. But if you're informed they're not too bad, I keep going back!
