I had bought the 1.9 in august of 96. It was fun but just didn't have the go power I wanted. took a horrendous hit and traded it in and got the 2.8 in january of 97. I was much happier especially with the torque difference. But once again I want more and am waiting for the 340hp or whatever else might come out later this year. I think you should get the 2.8 as it has a bit more to offer in stock form and can be upgraded relatively cheap to add another 20hp which will give it a new feel. Ultimately it just depends on what you are really looking for. I get bored easy myself.
