That car has been posted before and AFAIK is just a one-off P.O.S. concocted by a profoundly taste-impaired individual. I'm sure BMW *does* prohibit the sale of any car bearing the roundel that isn't a BMW, but there's nothing to prevent a kit car owner (e.g. the Miata Z3 look-alikes) from buying roundels for non-commercial use to slap on their cars. Since there aren't enough vehicles like that around to hurt BMW's reputation very much they will likely keep it that way. Most replacement roundels are sold to BMW owners who had them stolen or they fell off or deteriorated. So why put additional hassles on buyers to show proof of ownership when BMW is making a nice profit off those badges as you well know if you've ever had to buy one!
