No auto critics ever criticize the Miata as slow, yet it turns 0-60 times close to the 1.9. Hmmmm...perhaps there are better handling cars on the road than a Z3 1.9, but that certainly doesn't discredit the 1.9's handling virtues (and there are many).

If there is one complaint I have of all Z3s, it is that the steering is sometimes too HEAVY (not too light as the above post indicates). In fact, this is something others have pointed out in their comparisons with the Miata. I love the heavy feeling of a German car, but there is a lot to say for the tractability of the Miata.
