While I purchased my car and hardtop at the same time, the dealer installed it. Apparently it is a little difficult to properly install. I had to wait until a particular mechanic was available to do the job.
I purchased the car in May '99. So I've only had the hardtop on twice. This is the first winter I've gone through with the hardtop (the whole car for that matter :) )
Lately, it's developed a little squeak by the rear window, and some wind noise on the passenger window. But it's not enough of an issue to bother bringing the car in to be adjusted.
But, it's a nice feeling when you have to park the car on the street, and you know that the car is a little more secure.
