Got the chance to put the M Roadster through its paces on a very challenging road course at Thunderhill Park High Perormance Driver's School in Willows, California (one hour north of Sacramento off of I-5). Had an SCCA licensed race driver as an instuctor. He loved the M Roadster and really taught me how to drive it well. By the end of the day he had me overtaking a well tweeked M3 with another instuctor driving (not that I am in that driver's league over the long haul). The Thunderhill staff had so much respect for the M Roadster that they put me in the Intermediate class even though I had never driven on a track before. I am happy to report that I didn't embarrass my fellow Z3 drivers and at the end of the day was approved for Advanced Drivers School and the privelege of running the track without an instructor onboard. I chalk this up to one fine piece of machinery and a great Instructor (Bob Cox, a 50 something like myself)
On a serious note, please say a prayer for Bob's wife, also a race car driver, who is in serious
trouble fighting advanced stages of breast cancer.
Miracles can happen!
