If you had $10k and needed a commuter car (archive)

As a follow-up to DC's post below, but for someone who has less to spend, if you had $10k to spend and needed a commuter car in order to keep miles off the MZ3, what would you select??

Need 4 seats, solid reliability, slight pizzaz...
