The M definitely has more low-end torque - the kind you feel in your butt when you're pulling away from the lights. The Boxster needed more work through the gears to get the performance I wanted. But the Boxster felt more confident in hard cornering - you couldn't upset this car. In the end I made my decision based on my perceived value comparing the two cars, and on aesthetics. I think you pay a premium for the P badge and Porsche really kills you price-wise with options that come standard on the M. I also thought the Boxster's interior looked and felt kinda cheap (more like a VW - no offence to VW owners, but for the $$$, come on!). I think the Boxster looks sexy as hell from the outside though. But I also love the way the M Roadster looks (all Z3's for that matter). I still love it 12 months later and I still get lots of compliments too. I have learned a lot about the M Roadster's handling, having taken four BMW driving school weekends this past summer. What if I was buying now? Well, I'd have to drive the Boxster S. That would make the choice a lot harder, but then when you do the math...... I'd do it all over again, the M Roadster is the best use of disposable income I can think of!
