I have an 89 Maxima SE, 5sp with exhaust and cat upgrades, springs and struts. The engine is on Motor Trends 10 best of all time. The motor (3.0L V6) is the same one used in the 300Z. The mid range is great. 4 doors, plenty of room, can be had for cheap, japanese reliability. At 135000 miles, the only things that NEEDED to be replaced were brakes and the clutch. Everything else was for fun. You can probably get a real good example for ~$5k
