If there was enough power to start the Audi you should have been able to start the Z3. Was the Audi running at about 2000 rpm for a few minutes with the cables hooked up?

Expect to pay $35/45 dollars for a good set of 16ft cables.

Yep. I did get some power back, but it wasn't enough. The cables I used were only about 8 feet long and K-mart quality. I'll find my good ones eventually.

Good luck with the road service.

Thanks. I couldn't find my good set of cables, having just moved a couple of months ago, so I had to use these cheaper ones I got as a gift. They didn't work

I called AAA , and they showed up by the time they promised (unlike my one experience with BMW Roadside).

After saying hello, his first question to me was, why isn't my car garaged? It was, until this morning. Car started right up, and I went driving for the next 45 minutes. Tonight she's back in the locked garage, so I just locked her up and left the alarm unarmed. Tomorrow, I'll drive in to work and see if the charge held.
