I think you are on the right track. A longer, thinner European(German)style plate at least for the front would be something I would pay extra for. I have been thinking of doing a proposal drawing and submitting it to the Washington State DOT. The voters here just lowered the car tab price to $30, and the state is in a tizzy about all the lost revenue!!! This would be a way to get some extra funds back for highway repair etc.

Anyone in Washington want to join in on this effort?
