When I changed springs and struts on my previous car, I found it much easier to loosen the nuts if you heat it up with a blow torch, just for few seconds. If it still won't budge, spray some WD-40 while it's hot, repeat if necessary. As for the strut nut, I used a piece of thick leather(from an old belt), wrapped it around the strut rod, stick it in the vise and tighten it just enough so you can loosen the nut.
