A speaker that requires a mounting depth of 3.6" will need at least 4" to be on the safe side. This means that the enclosure will be a MINIMUM of 5.5" deep (.75" for the front of the speaker, 4" for the mounting depth and .75" for the rear wall of the enclosure).
Now, the enclosure itself will be 4.75" deep with 3.25" of depth INSIDE the enclosure (you have to use .75" MDF). A 8" Kicker Solabaric needs .4 cubic feet (about 825 cubic inches AFTER the volume of the speaker basket is factored in). This means that your enclosure will have to be approximately 20" by 20" by 4.75" in order to provide the proper amount of internal volume (taking the thickness of the MDF and the volume of the speaker basket into account).
In other words, there is not enough room.
Why not back a unit that sits where the passenger's feet go...those have been very sucessful.
