I eliminated the idea of putting a screw throught the sheet metal because of the fuel tank, I don't want to risk puncturing the tank. But I also wonder if heating the sheet metal with the torch could possibly be hazardous with the tank right behind it, anyone with a comment on this? Interesting idea with the pop rivits though but then I would have to puncture the sheet metal.

After having the seat out and the carpet loose, I definately notice more road noise. I am planning on putting multiple layers of dynamat to make it real quite.

I will keep you all posted on how it goes, let me warn you that this could take a month and a half for me since I don't have much time to tinker during the weekdays.
