BIRD STRIKE AT THE RACES (archive)

Yesterday I went to the American LeMans Race in Charlotte with my '99 Z3. Got there early and they had me park under the trees close to the main gate - Great place - so I thought! Races were great with BMW's putting on the show - of course! Got back to my car and found that it was used as target practice for some #$% birds! I have a hard top which survived but my trunk got hit real bad. After the race I found a car wash - I thought that would clean it but one large dropping left a ghost mark on the car. My color is Steel Grey. Got home and applied some wax on it but ghost mark is still there in the clear coat. Any suggestions with removing the mark or do I live with it? Thanks!
